Marriage Retreats

The Weekend Getaway offers educational lectures on marriage and a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational activities and programs. The winter package will include cross-country skiing. All weekend packages includes dinner and accommodations Friday night, breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Bedding is provided.

$175 per couple for family lodge and guestroom accommodations

$135 per couple for rustic cabin accommodations.

Douglas E. Brinley, is a professor of Church History and Doctrine at BYU. He has authored or co-authored nine books on marriage and family topics including Between Husband and Wife: Gospel Perspectives on Marital Intimacy, First Comes Love, and its sequel, Then Comes Marriage, and Living a Covenant Marriage.

Feb. 29-Mar 1, 2008

Jeff Hill is an associate professor of Family Life at BYU and a part time senior HR professional at IBM where he is a subject matter expert in work and family issues. He received a PhD in Family and Human Development from Utah State. Jeff has worked for IBM for more than 20 years serving in a variety of marketing and HR positions before joining the BYU School of Family Life faculty in 1998. At BYU he has taught classes in home and family living, family processes, child development, families in communities, the Family Proclamation, and work and family.

Sept. 26-27, 2008

Kent Brooks is an associate professor of Church History and Doctrine at BYU. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Masters degree in Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Family Studies. Dr. Brooks teaches LDS marriage and family relations and Doctrine and Covenants classes. He has practiced for over twenty years as a Marriage and Family Counselor.

February 6-7, 2009

Brad Wilcox, who earned a Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming, is an associate professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Brigham Young University where he teaches courses in literacy. He enjoys writing and has published many books, articles, and CDs for church and national audiences including Growing Up, Filling Your Testimony Tank, and The Prophet and the Plates.
